Why blue materials for the food industry?

Blue materials are predominantly used in the food industry because the color blue is rarely found in natural foods, making plastic parts that accidentally enter production visually easy to detect and remove. Additionally, they allow for faster cleanliness checks, as spores, mold, and residues of food and cleaning agents are more easily recognizable compared to materials in other colors. This makes them the preferred choice for tools, conveyor systems, and machine parts in food processing.

Original "S" plus+® AntiMicrobial [FS]®

The material contains special substances that prevent the growth of bacteria and other microbes, while being gentle on the environment and humans. This makes the material ideal for use in food production and processing, for example, in the meat industry. Microbial growth on the surface can be reduced by 99.96% to 99.99% compared to materials without additives. This helps prevent unpleasant odors and the formation of biofilm.

Piston Guide for Chocolate Production

For a customer in the confectionery industry, we manufacture high-precision piston guides from our material Original "S" plus+ GlassBeads [FS]®, which are used for dosing warm chocolate at approximately 50°C. The material meets all food safety requirements according to EU 10/2011 and FDA regulations – and is additionally highly wear-resistant to ensure a long service life in daily production. Thanks to its excellent resistance to cleaning agents, the piston guide also withstands aggressive cleaning cycles – ensuring a consistently reliable and hygienic use in chocolate production.

When especially delicate products, such as eggs, need to be lifted and moved, the use of vacuum grippers is ideal. A 3D-printed solution offers numerous advantages. We can design a weight-optimized, custom-made version, where vacuum channels and connections are integrated. Even though terms like food-compliant, food-safe, or food-approved are not officially defined, they are understood in the technical field as materials that are suitable for contact with food and do not pose a risk to food safety — particularly regarding the potential migration of undesirable substances.

To meet these high requirements, we provide product-specific declarations of conformity for the most important food contact regulations. Depending on the product, we can confirm compliance with the following regulations:
