Application example
Custom-developed dough scraper with separately manufactured stainless steel shaft
Our design engineers often develop custom solutions that significantly optimise the existing design of the component currently in use. The dough scraper is a case in point. A large well-known bakery used dough scrapers made from polyurethane to remove residual dough from the edges of their mixer bowls. The plastic used for the scraper was subject to very heavy wear, so the entire welded component (consisting of an expensive stainless steel shaft and the polyurethane dough scraper) had to be regularly replaced. As a cost-saving solution, Murtfeldt’s Application Technology Team designed a two-part assembly with the option of obtaining the plastic scraper as a separate part. By using the technically high-quality, antibacterial Murtfeldt plastic Original Material “S” plus AB, wear was also significantly reduced. The component now has a much longer service life.
