In the production of plastic beverage bottles, the reliability of each individual component plays a central role. For a customer in the beverage industry, we significantly improved an existing solution: The crown discs originally made of PTFE showed significant wear after just a few weeks, leading to frequent downtimes and a high exchange rate, where other components were damaged during disassembly. With our specially developed material Original "S" plus+® LowFriction [FS]®, we were able to extend the service life of the disc in combination with a crown made of Murytal® C natur [FS]® to up to one year – with minimal wear. Initial tests with 20 discs already showed after 10 weeks: While the PTFE version had significantly worn down, our solution remained virtually intact. A true win for efficiency and durability in production.

GRIPPERS IN RINSERS FOR WINE AND SPARKLING WINE BOTTLING

To improve hygiene during sterilization, we at MURTFELDT have replaced rubber holding jaws in the rinsers of many beverage filling systems with holding jaws made from high-quality engineering plastic. For example, Original "S" plus+® AntiMicrobial [FS]® contains special substances that inhibit the growth of microbes while also being gentle on people and the environment. This helps to prevent unpleasant odors as well as the formation of biofilm. In addition, Original "S" plus+® AntiMicrobial [FS]® has proven in many applications to be highly abrasion-resistant, chemically resistant, and moisture-free. Switching to this solution quickly yields positive results: Cleaning effort is typically significantly reduced, better centering allows tighter tolerances to be maintained, and the overall operation runs smoothly. Additional benefits: The use of plastic holding jaws improves hygiene, and the systems operate more precisely.
