NO to Violence Against Women

We support the Zonta Club Dortmund, which is committed to improving the lives of others — especially women — in many different ways. Their efforts culminate on 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

According to the 2023 Federal Situation Report on Domestic Violence by the Federal Criminal Police Office, a man commits an act of violence against his partner every less than four minutes, and every two hours, a woman experiences sexualised violence by her partner.

These are not just numbers — they represent lives forever altered by pain and fear. Gender-based violence is a devastating reality that calls for action from all of us.

“No violence against women — this is an important issue that must be present in our minds every day. There is still a great need for progress [...] Our society needs to be made more aware — not to look away, but to look closely and offer help.”

That’s why, on 25 November — the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women — we took part in the UN campaign "Orange the World". The campaign draws attention to injustices and uses orange benches as a visual invitation to engage in dialogue for a society free from violence against women. Our bench has a permanent place on our company premises.

On Monday, we also distributed matching bread bags in our company cafeteria, provided informational flyers, and raised awareness about the campaign through our social media channels. A heartfelt thank you to all employees who contributed to this important initiative.
