Tension force adjustment
Our tensioning systems are particularly gentle on chains thanks to the freely oscillating spring principle, which prevents excessive surface pressure. The tension force can be optimally adjusted using up to three freely selectable springs. Once the entire adjustment range has been used, the chain must be shortened or replaced with a new one.

Visual inspection indicator
Our chain tensioners are equipped with a visual inspection indicator. This allows the maintenance technician to check the chain tension at a glance.
Structure and Function of Tensioning Systems
The function of a tensioning system is essential for the performance and reliability of chain and belt drives. By maintaining the correct level of tension, tensioning systems support smooth operation, reduce wear, and improve operational reliability. Understanding the tensioning system function helps companies optimize equipment performance and extend component service life.
MURTFELDT designs tensioning systems to reduce stress on drive chains and belt drives while ensuring reliable force transmission. High-quality materials, flexible adjustment options, and robust designs allow the systems to perform consistently even in demanding operating environments. The function of tensioning systems also helps minimize maintenance requirements and reduce downtime.
A clear understanding of the tensioning system function supports the selection of the right solution for specific applications. Whether used in technology, mechanical engineering, or automated production, the right tensioning system boosts reliability. It improves efficiency and supports long-term performance.
