The solid-state sealing material has been designed for high-performance applications in various industries. It offers outstanding resistance to extreme temperatures and high pressure. It supports the automation of processes by eliminating the need for manual inspection and correction of the previous sealing element after each cycle, which reduces rework costs.
Versatile Applications
Murlock® is primarily used in high-temperature injection molding applications with low to high-viscosity filling media, where conventional seals fail. Due to its excellent chemical resistance, good anti-stick properties, and high surface quality, Murlock® is also suitable for sealing visible surfaces and many other applications. Additionally, complex geometries and sealing surfaces can also be sealed against inserts.

Whether it’s special thermoplastic injection molded parts, high-pressure resin injection molding (HP-RTM), or high tool temperatures, Murlock® offers the solution for sealing applications that were previously impossible to implement, even with difficult geometries. Murlock® demonstrated its innovative power in the R.A.C.E project, where a motorcycle number plate holder for the KTM 1290 Superduke R was introduced, made of carbon fiber composite. While the conventional design weighed 765 grams, the Project R.A.C.E. achieved a weight saving of over 60 percent, reducing it to just 265 grams – while simultaneously improving performance.
