The world of 3D printing at MURTFELDT has reached new dimensions – from ultra-precise miniature components with minimal tolerances to full-scale performance parts. A perfect example of this is our life-sized helicopter, specifically developed and 3D-printed for pilot simulator training. This training cockpit combines robustness, stability, design, and authenticity into one outstanding overall product.
Thanks to impressive customisation options, surprisingly low costs, and short production times, this high-end result clearly demonstrates that additive manufacturing is also economically viable for large components. The project was realised in close collaboration between Reiser Simulation and Training GmbH, RS Flight Systems GmbH, and our facility in Kusterdingen.

Once the state-of-the-art electronics are integrated, the cockpit enables Level D full-flight simulations for truly authentic pilot training. The skills of pilots are sharpened through simulation, with a direct impact on their performance in real-life operations. We are proud to be part of a project that supports and advances such a demanding profession. In the spirit of 3D printing developer Q.BIG 3D: ThinkBig. PrintBigger!
