The student racing team from the Technical University of Dortmund has once again chosen an electric drivetrain for its latest race car — and has managed to further enhance its performance compared to last year.

After months of dedicated work, the GET racing team is now ready for the 2024 season. At the official rollout in late May, they proudly unveiled their new car. The FS224 will compete in events across Hungary, Germany, and France. And the vehicle is truly impressive: in terms of aerodynamics and weight, it sets new standards. With a downforce coefficient of cl*A > 6 and a weight reduction of 20 kg, the FS224 builds on the legacy of its predecessors — the FS223 and FS221 — which were also fully electric.

For around 20 years, students at GET racing Dortmund e.V. have been building race cars for Formula Student. This racing series is an international design competition for students in Formula-style motorsport. Formula Student Germany will take place this year from August 12 to 18 in Hockenheim. It is one of the largest competitions worldwide for electric and autonomous vehicles. If you’d like to stay up to date with the races, you’ll find an event overview and links to GET racing’s social media channels below.

We are proud to support the team as an exclusive sponsor. In addition to financial support, we contributed lightweight components from our Friedrichshafen site to this year’s race car. These especially strong and weight-saving parts help optimize overall performance. We also support the students in the development phase and are happy to share our expertise in advanced manufacturing methods.

We wish the GET racing team great success for this season!
