MurPearl® Air

For coloured, delicate and movable components with a perfect finish.

While MurPearl® is primarily used in the food and medical sectors, we have developed MurPearl® Air, another process that is the ideal solution for coloured, movable, delicate or particularly large components.

Components treated with MurPearl® Air are therefore ideal for design objects, consumer goods or small-batch coloured products. The process enables targeted external smoothing – depending on the geometry – without affecting sensitive structures. Even thin-walled, filigree or warp-critical shapes can be reliably processed – and even moving components with functionality are possible.

EU food approval is available for uncoloured parts, which significantly expands the range of possible applications. The materials used are PA2200 in natural or coloured form, as well as MurSint® PA12 blue (our own material, which is certified according to EU food approval).

Another advantage: the colour remains intense with smoothing. Black, red, blue, green, lime green, orange, yellow, pink and purple – other colours are available on request.

Our smoothing processes combine precision and performance.

MurPearl® + MurPearl® Air

Surface technologies in direct comparison

Two processes, one goal: perfect surfaces for your 3D-printed plastic components – functional, food-safe and impressively smooth.

MurPearl®

Immersion bath smoothing for hygienically smooth parts – without loss of geometry

  • Internal and external smoothing
  • EU food approval
  • Residual powder connection
  • Material: PA2200 natural
  • Max. component size: 240 x 240 x 200 mm

MurPearl® Air

Automated steam smoothing for visually and haptically high-quality applications

  • External smoothing
  • For delicate, thin-walled & warp-critical moulds
  • Movable components with function
  • Material: PA2200 natural + coloured, MurSint® PA12 blue
  • Large components up to 650 x 550 x 450 mm

The advantages of MurPearl® technologies

  • High-quality, closed surface: visibly smoother, non-porous, professional
  • Improved cleanability & hygiene: reduces dirt adhesion, low-germ surfaces
  • Reduced friction: optimised sliding properties for content surfaces
  • Visually and functionally enhanced: for visible components and demanding functional parts

  • Resistant & durable: less abrasion, better resistance
  • Suitable for sealing surfaces: improves sealability on mounting surfaces
  • Ideal for combining with machining & reworking: integrates flexibly into existing workflows
  • Process-reliable & reproducible: industry-standard and suitable for series production
