Original Material “S” plus+® white ESD

Without compromise: a new white plastic that is also dissipative

Possible uses

Our new addition, Original Material “S” plus+® white ESD, is the ideal material for clean room technology and is perfect for use in laboratory environments. If, for instance, it's used for work surfaces, ESD-sensitive (ESDS) products can be processed on them without any problems. The modified UHMW-PE can also be relied upon to meet electrical engineering requirements, when a slow discharge speed for sensitive electronic components is needed. It is approved for ESD protected areas according to EPA and complies with the standards 61340-5-1 and DIN EN 61340-5-1.
In turn, medical technology benefits from the use of this plastic in that there is no black abrasion as with market-standard materials and static charging can also be prevented. This is a major advantage for the food industry as well, which is also subject to strict hygiene requirements. Original Material “S” plus+® white ESD can be used in the food processing industry as it is certified as food safe according to EU and FDA regulations.

Technical features

With a molecular weight of 5x 106 g/mol and a density of ≤ 0.94 kg/dm³, this plastic features the technical properties of the established “S” plus+® product family. Excellent wear and abrasion resistance and outstanding chemical resistance are particular stand-out features. Beyond this, Murtfeldt has succeeded in creating something new with Original Material “S” plus+® white ESD: the white plastic is Murtfeldt’s first material to have a surface resistance that lies between the lower limit of 106 Ω and the upper limit of 109 Ω. After extensive research, Murtfeldt has found an answer to frequent requests from customers and is delighted to now offer a further solution that is completely in line with customer requirements.
